East-Central Alberta, Overview

The East-Central Alberta area produces mainly medium to light oil in the 24o to 30o API gravity range from various Cretaceous, Mannville formation sandstones. Oil production comes mainly from the Ellerslie and Glauconitic formations of the Mannville Group. These formations are encountered at drill depths of 900 to 1,000 meters.

The East-Central Alberta area consists of several different areas including Thompson Lake, Battlebend and Coronation, which are described below in each project area.

Oil production in the East-Central Alberta area is pipelined to a central battery at each of the individual pools, then treated and pipeline shipped to various points of sale.

Emerge will commit a portion of the 2010 capital program to this area with the aim of optimizing production and reactivation of shut-in wells followed up with a development drilling program later in the year.
